Drive to Mont Blanc

Driving to Mont Blanc, we took a 2-hours trip crossing the Swiss-France border towards the township of "Chamonix Mont Blanc". It was a perfect blue-sky day!

From Lausanne we drove towards Montreux and took a detour to to Caux. A very high viewing point towards Montreux below.

Stopping at McDonalds to have lunch we saw many paragliders jumping from the mountains surrounding Rennaz area.

In Swiss the sceneries can jump right at you. Nearing Martigny, this waterfall seems to just sprout from the sides of the mountain.

From Martigny we started the climb towards Rhone Valley. It is impressively high and the buildings below looks like toys.

Stopping at the Rhone Valley lookout we saw this breathtaking scenery.

Snowcapped mountains ... in Summer! We also took this photo of a 3-generations family.

Stopping at Chatelard to find this interesting train stop which is covered by bushes.

At Argentiere we stopped and took photos with the majestic Mont Blanc in the background.

Soon we arrived at Chamonix Mt Blanc, the pretty little ski-resort town and got some ice cream!

Nindya, Andrew, and Ariel bought some fairy floss which was hand-made then we did a bit of shopping at a watch shop.

Views from the town centre. A magnificent place.

On our way back we stopped at a glacier river, that is the water is from melted snow. Ariel and Andrew looked for pet rocks as usual. Eyang Kuka told us that he was taught about the glaciers in the 1950s but only now he was able to touch it. It's very cold !

It was a very memorable day.
